Adam
Prophet Adam (AS) was the first human created by Allah from clay. He was taught the names of all things and commanded the angels to prostrate to him. His story is one of creation, trial, repentance, and divine mercy.
Idris
Prophet Idris (AS) was known for his extreme righteousness and devotion. He was the first to use a pen and was elevated by Allah to a high station.
Nuh
Prophet Nuh (AS) spent 950 years calling his people to the absolute oneness of Allah. Despite their mockery and rejection, he remained steadfast, eventually building the Ark to save the believers from the Great Flood.
Hud
Prophet Hud (AS) was sent to the people of 'Ad, a nation of giants known for their incredible architecture and even greater arrogance. He warned them against their pride before they were destroyed by a violent wind.
Saleh
Prophet Saleh (AS) was sent to the people of Thamud. As a proof of his message, Allah brought a miraculous she-camel out of a rock. When the people killed her, they were struck by a terrifying blast.
Ibrahim
Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is the archetype of pure monotheism (Tawhid). From breaking his people's idols to surviving the fire of Nimrod and preparing to sacrifice his son Ismail, his life was a series of ultimate tests of faith.
Lut
Prophet Lut (AS), the nephew of Ibrahim, was sent to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to warn them against their grave immoralities and corruption.
Ismail
Prophet Ismail (AS), the first son of Ibrahim, was the one left in the desert of Makkah as a child. He helped his father rebuild the Kaaba and was famously willing to be sacrificed.
Ishaq
Prophet Ishaq (AS) was the second son of Ibrahim, born to Sarah in her old age. He was a 'Prophet of the Righteous' and the ancestor of the Children of Israel.
Yaqub
Prophet Yaqub (AS) (Jacob) is the father of the twelve tribes. He is best known for his immense grief and 'Beautiful Patience' over the loss of his son Yusuf.
Yusuf
Prophet Yusuf (AS) experienced betrayal by his brothers, slavery, and false imprisonment before rising to become the treasurer of Egypt. His story is described by Allah as 'the best of stories'.
Ayyub
Prophet Ayyub (AS) was tested with the loss of all his wealth, his children, and his health for many years. He remained grateful and never complained against Allah.
Shu'aib
Prophet Shu'aib (AS) was sent to the people of Madyan, who were known for cheating in weights and measures. He was the most eloquent of speakers among the prophets.
Musa
Prophet Musa (AS) was sent to confront the greatest tyrant of his time, Pharaoh. With his brother Harun, he led the Children of Israel out of bondage and received the Torah on Mount Sinai.
Harun
Prophet Harun (AS), the brother of Musa, was given prophecy to assist Musa in his mission to Pharaoh, specifically because of his eloquence and gentle speech.
Dhul-Kifl
Dhul-Kifl (AS) is mentioned minimally in the Quran as one of the extremely patient and righteous prophets who fulfilled his covenants.
Dawud
Prophet Dawud (AS) was both a king and a prophet. He defeated Goliath (Jalut) as a youth and was given the Zabur (Psalms). He was known for his beautiful voice and intense worship.
Sulayman
Prophet Sulayman (AS), the son of Dawud, was granted a kingdom like no other—authority over the wind, the animals, and the Jinn. He was a master of wisdom and justice.
Ilyas
Prophet Ilyas (AS) (Elijah) was sent to his people who had taken a statue called Baal as their god. He challenged them to return to the worship of the One Creator.
Al-Yasa'
Prophet Al-Yasa' (AS) (Elisha) was the successor to Ilyas. He is listed among the most preferred and righteous of all prophets.
Yunus
Prophet Yunus (AS) left his people in frustration before they could believe. He was swallowed by a massive whale and spent 40 days in its belly praying for forgiveness.
Zakariya
Prophet Zakariya (AS) was the guardian of Maryam (Mary). In his extreme old age, he prayed for a son who would carry the Prophetic legacy, and he was blessed with Yahya.
Yahya
Prophet Yahya (AS) (John) was gifted with wisdom as a child. He was known for his piety, gentle heart, and for confirming the word of Allah through Isa (AS).
Isa
Prophet Isa (AS) (Jesus) was born to Maryam (AS) without a father. He spoke in the cradle, healed the blind/leper, and was raised to heaven by Allah.
Muhammad
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is the last of the prophets, sent to all of humanity. He received the Quran over 23 years and built a community of faith that changed world history.
