The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Recite Qul ya ayyuhal kafirun before going to sleep — it is a disavowal of shirk.' Reciting it before sleep is a declaration of pure monotheism. It is also called 'the surah of disavowal' (surah al-bara'ah).

Al-Kafirun establishes the definitive Islamic position on religious compromise: 'To you is your religion, and to me is my religion.' Islam does not accept syncretism — mixing beliefs to gain acceptance.
